A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together
in unity!

Hello Brethren

I open with this statement to further address our resent subject matter UNITY.

Through out the the Old Testament and New, God has always separated his people from worldly ways.

The first thing HE did was always to send out a shepherd to round up lost sheep like when Israel was delivered out of Egypt.

Now the first thing HE(GOD) did was physically move the chosen away from the heathens and their practices that will always corrupt those with good manners.

Living among the heathens, Israel began to serve other God's and so will you and your children.

When God asks us to come out from among them and be separate He means for us to do that in every way possible.

Let me just say that all of this discussion about selling all and giving to the poor is not bad.

In fact when the book of Acts records that our brothers gave all, picked up their cross and followed Jesus, many today think to them selves that this is impossible.

They were all in one place in one accord, having one mind. All of them did not live there. Some of them traveled far to get to that location.

Now when the scripture records that they sold all and had all things common, it just means they did whatever they had to do to come together in one physical place so they could dwell together magnifying God.

They were so swept away by the POWER on THE DAY OF PENTECOST that they were willing to pay any COST to keep from being separated from it.

This does not mean that these people lived out in an open field with rocks for pillows.

What it meant was abundance. None of them lacked ANYTHING.

This means that under the POWERFUL influence Of Gods presence they were able to move together and actually end up with everything else they had before and more.

Paul from North Carolina is quite correct when he states that they all did not sell everything they owned. They that lived in the area gave up what they owned to make it easier on the ones who sold their stuff to move together. So these guys all ended up with much more to work with individually and collectively.

So you are not going to out give God.

Yes through out the entire Bible God has always required his people to assemble together and separate from evil and we in the USA are finding out that except the days ahead be shortened, eventually no one will be left who loves HIM enough to obey.

Thats what it's all about, divide and conguer. We are separate in many ways but not in all ways yet.
When the time comes God is going to bring the real body of Christ together once and forever.

When God commands us to come out from among them he does not mean for us to go hide somewhere. God wants us to strengthen one another so we do not serve other Gods and then we will be able to let our lights shine in a dark world.

How will the light shine in a dark world if that light in darkness?

Come on think. The Bones are shaking and going to come together and Israel is going to have the spirit of God.

God is going to do this not us.

All we can do is wait while the scriptures are being fullfilled. Many false prophets have come and many are being deceived

But YOU are not deceived.

Unless you are going to one of these wooden cHurches out here.

Bro Mike

Paul NC I am not trying to use any "tactics of fear", that is complete nonsense.

I have no doubt that you are approaching your study in good conscience about the matter, as I am.

I am further strengthened though about my understanding of this by Acts 12:12 (which is a ways further than events in Acts 4). I could go on and on with this, but all a person has to do is carefully read what each of us has posted and they can see or sense that we are calling the same verses by a different color, which is common in Christian circles.

Anyway Brother Mike, all glory to God, as you have said, we can trust in Him and have faith, and that is most important. I bet we can agree on that.

Have a nice day, and Praise God.

Dear Paul you are still using the same tactics of fear to side step the confrontation with the verses in ACTS 4:

All of the other translations say the same thing even more clearly. No one had anything they called their and the leaders were in charge of who got what.

Now no one expected them to take the shirt off of their backs and turn their wives over to the leaders. But Jesus clearly spoke about having 2 coats while your brother had none.

Ananias and his wife wanted to join up so they tried to secretly break the rules of giving the price of the land.

They knew that the rules were when a person wanted to identified as a Jesus freak that they might have to sell all and give to the poor if they were rich especially. They didn't want to give it all but wanted the title.

The truth is many of us in the USA will never believe this actually happened.

Foxes have holes and birds of the air nests but Jesus said that basically the way things were going that HE (THE SON OF MAN) doesn't have a place to lay his head.

WE here in the USA are rich and increased with goods and do not know that we are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Keep up the good fight and strive to enter in at the straight gate.

Fear not little flock.

No, not at all Mike. You are completely misreading me, and I believe you are misunderstanding the Bible also. I don't portend to be anyone, or anything. All brethren I esteem better than myself, even if it doesn't come across that way. No one has to agree with me in regards to anything whatsoever, but we must all use every fiber of our being to agree in our hearts with God.

I have read and reread and prayed and meditated on these Passages as stated in different translations, and I carefully read what you wrote, and I understand that we are like 2 people looking at the exact same object (those Passages) and "seeing" 2 different objects (like people looking at a statue in an Art Museum from opposite sides).

BUT I know we could go round and round about this, just as 2 people could about divorce and marriage, or authority, or any other Bible subject, but it would be "doubtful disputations" and would engender strife; sorry what I wrote made you angry. We will just have to believe as we believe, and I pray that The Lord God, through His Spirit will help us all to come to a knowledge of the Truth.

If I am wrong, may God grant me the humility and clarity to see so through His Word and His Spirit.

I feel like Paul in this, when I come to you (at this Site) I am determined to only know Christ and Him crucified.

Praise God, and I truly pray for His blessing upon all of His children.

Paul Wrote

"That is of the devil, and of the flesh. It is a "wresting" of the Scriptures to their own destruction."

Dear Paul finding the truth does not require these threatening tactics. I do not think anyone hear is intentionally trying to trash Gods word for their own selfish desires.

The confusion taught in the wooden cHurches takes some doing to root out but please don't try using these verses to threaten others into siding with your point of view.

The reason this tact makes me so angry is because almost every individual who ever delivered a message out of the Bible has resorted to this same passage repeatedly beating the lesser more unstable sheep into oppressive subjection.

This is the mark of a cult leader like stair or any man frustrated enough to get people bowing to them.

Loving expressions were more often used by the Apostles and not this browbeating approach as if the sheep were out to twist their words deliberately.

Please be more patient with those of us here at THE NET TEAM because we do know the Bible passages in question very clearly and have been drawn by God to be used to show that THE OVERCOMER MINISTRY is not following the ACTS OF THE APOSTLES.

They are a counterfeit, however close ACTS it looks like to the public.

The references to the Church in their house was somewhere far away in most cases with THE APOSTLE PAUL needing a place to lay over on long journeys to ASIA MINOR.

Without a complete PHD thesis on breaking bread house to house, you will note that this was ACTS 2: and sometime before ACTS 4 in the order of time. Yes many things happened from ACTS 2-4.

I can go into many clarifying verses at another time.

I will say this. There is not a group on this earth doing this ACTS OF THE APOSTLES. But this does not mean that they didn't do it so take a deep breath all and have good one.

Good Night this morning.

Brother Mike

From: I disagree Paul
Dear Paul please read this again in Acts.

Let me paraphrase

No one said boo about giving all, because none of them called anything that they gave their own.
It was all of theirs together. When the leaders gave their possessions away to someone else they were not complaining as if they got the short end.

They sold their houses and lands and gave it all to the leaders who gave to others based on the needs of the individual. No one had anything they called their own.

What Bible are you reading Paul?

I hope this helps you to see the facts in Acts of the early Church and how it really went down.

I understand how frightening this idea is to the average Church goer being taught that the power of God is shown in ones life based on how much God blesses them with money, houses, lands.

In these days of the ACTS of the Apostles, the poorer you were the more you were considered more like Jesus.

Today's cHurch capitalism has taught us something else.

No man had anything he called his own "READ IT PLEASE"

Then I would like to hear how you thought the opposite.

I agree with the word and you should too even if my statements do not.

Thanks for being so open Paul and don't let it get you down, it's just Gods way of getting me stirred up so I can point out these very critical passages.

Bro Mike PS(If after reading vs 32 and don't see this try another translation in American English)

Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

I agree Brother Mike

About even a small group not being able to agree in all things, just look at the Apostles, particularly Peter and Paul.

But BY the grace and Godly purity that comes THROUGH God's Son, they loved each other in their hearts anyway.

Not because each was "lovable", but because they love HIM and He gave them forgiveness and love for each other.

About the community concept, it is easy (as Peter attested in 2Pe 3:16) for Christians to misunderstand the events in Acts and the writings of the Bible in general, but I summarize this point - while they had "all things common"

(Acts 4:32), note that the "things" they possessed were THEIR OWN

and God gave them a heart not to treasure them, but to share them. Thus you have the expression "the church that is in their house" found over and over again because 2, 3 or more Christians would meet in SOMEONES HOUSE (and that constitutes a Church).

It was not a situation where they sold all that they owned and gave every last penny to some man and moved to a commune under the control of some "master overlord", like a Stair, and he ruled over them with absolute dictatorial power. That is of the devil, and of the flesh. It is a "wresting" of the Scriptures to their own destruction.

I know the brethren who regularly read this Site know these things, as they experienced them first hand, but people like "Lost", "Help's brother" and others, who do not know, hopefully will read these things and not be snared. That is, after all, the purpose of this Site, and I thank God that you guys have posted the testimonials.

You brethren know that Jesus the Christ can be found ANYWHERE. You DO NOT have to move to some Farm to find Jesus. Invite Him into your heart, right where you are now.

May God help us pathetic human beings. I see every single day how I fall short. God have mercy.

I want to address the June 10th post from "Lost"...

Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world. This includes yours. Whether anyone believes it or not, the Work was done. All of us who know this (including you) can know that God loves us because He gave Himself for us. It's as simple as that. Someone used to say, "It's a done did deal."

Of course God knows you're there - He knows when the sparrow falls to the ground and you are of more value than a sparrow.

Finally, would Jesus set His love on you by dying for you and bringing you to that knowledge then leave you to rot? He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. You aren't an exception. You must believe that.

I was involved in the Overcomer Ministry from 1994 to 2005, living on site from 1999 to 2005. Just so you know I'm not some passer-by. We're all touched with each others infirmities in these matters.

Let your heart be established.

Paul wrote

"It seems so clear to me on studying The Word that there is no place where it tells us to do some "commune" like thing"

I really don't want to disagree with you Paul and this is why I waited before speaking to you again.

Their are many forms of common-unity (community) and even here at this site with a handful of us can not see eye to eye.

A community should not be a totalitarian government and that is what I think you are trying to project. That is all we see in our time.

I agree.
